V2 Employee Spotlight

This month’s Employee Spotlight at V2 is Randy Cruz! After finishing his M.A. in Management, Randy joined V2 LATAM in October 2020 as a Business Analyst and has been a part of some of V2’s most strategic customer projects supporting multiple global media organizations as well as a global gaming organization. Through his commitment to his personal and professional growth as well as our clients’ success, Randy was promoted to be a Sr. Business Analyst in 2021.

How did you start your career with V2?

After finishing my Master’s degree, I actively started looking for a job. One of my friends told me that his sister was employed with a technology company. I didn’t really understand what he meant until I contacted her and learned more about Salesforce. After discussing, I began researching Salesforce more and utilizing myTrailhead to learn. Shortly after, I applied to V2, and after an exciting process, here I am!

How have you grown professionally & personally at V2?

V2 has allowed me to grow professionally through monitoring my achievements and providing me with the necessary tools for continuous learning. An added plus is that V2 takes personal and family time very seriously!

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of what I do is the culture and the sense of camaraderie. At V2, you are valued and everyone around you makes you feel important. If you find yourself stuck with a problem, there will always be colleagues willing to help. Here, you are never alone.

What advice do you have for professionals looking to break into the Salesforce ecosystem?

This is a funny question to me because it reminds me that every time someone asks me about job opportunities, I always tell them that they must open their myTrailhead account and start learning. The Salesforce ecosystem continues to scale year after year and is an excellent path to a great career, providing tremendous growth opportunities.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Elon Musk–He wants to make the world a better place to live in.

What tools and resources do you recommend for someone who is starting their Salesforce journey?

My first recommendation is always myTrailhead. Through myTrailhead, you can learn about Salesforce in an organized and engaging way. I was even surprised to realize that all of this is free. YouTube tutorials and Salesforce Help are some additional resources you can leverage for learning.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

I am motivated by the fact that every day spent in this job is another day of learning that will allow me to grow further for my future.

What are three “must have” qualities or skills needed to be successful in the Salesforce ecosystem?

  • Communication
  • Active Listening
  • Technical Expertise

What has been your biggest hurdle as a Salesforce professional and how have you overcome it?

My biggest hurdle has been learning Salesforce from scratch. I had to learn everything I needed during my first few months with V2, which was challenging for me. However, learning becomes a habit and a source of growth, which has led me to become certified four times. I’m going for more certifications!

What do you love most about working in the Salesforce industry?

The community. We all work together as an Ohana.

If there was one thing you could change about your Salesforce journey, what would it be?

To have started earlier on in my career.
