2022 Salesforce Dreamforce

Dreamforce, Salesforce’s annual conference, is one of the biggest tech events in the world. Since it launched in 2003, it has brought tens of thousands of members of the Salesforce community together each autumn for three days of workshops, networking, parties, and more.

The V2 team has been attending Dreamforce going back years, and like many in the industry, it is one of the highlights of our year. This guide outlines everything you need to know about this year’s event, why we recommend attending, and an exciting announcement we have for you there.

When and where does Dreamforce take place this year?

After remote events in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, Dreamforce is taking place in person this year in San Francisco at the Moscone Center from September 20–22, 2022.

Salesforce will also broadcast the event on Salesforce+, its streaming service. If you are not able to get tickets or travel at this time, you can tune in there for 72 hours of content, global takeovers, and 200+ on-demand episodes.

Who is Dreamforce for?

Any and all ‘Trailblazers’ working in the Salesforce ecosystem, across all industries. You’ll be in a room full of people working at some of the world’s most innovative brands. Previous years have attracted more than 170,000 registered attendees, including admins, developers, architects, marketers, partners, Salesforce employees, executives, and more. There is no level of expertise required to attend — you’ll find something for everyone.

What happens at Dreamforce?

Keynotes and product announcements, visionary mainstage presentations, focused sessions on your favorite Salesforce products, concerts, parties, and more. Find the full agenda, with over 1,000 sessions, here

Dreamforce programming falls within four core pillars:

1. Learning: Expect demos of the latest products and updates from Salesforce, training and certification opportunities, and instructive sessions covering strategies, tactics, and best practices you can take back home with you. Along with product-related learning, there are also provocative discussions about topical events and social, economic, and environmental issues.

2. Connecting: This is a chance to build your network, meet new people, reconnect with old friends, and learn from like-minded teams and individuals.

3. Giving back: Philanthropy is a huge component of Dreamforce. Each year, the event partners with nonprofit organizations to raise money and facilitate opportunities for attendees to contribute to the broader community. The event has raised over $100M to date for various organizations.

4. Having fun: Of course, to celebrate its global community, Salesforce knows how to throw one of the best parties of the year. Some of the biggest names in the world take the stage at the legendary Dreamfest concert, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining this year (and with proceeds benefiting UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals). There are also parties hosted by Salesforce partners throughout the event, along with impromptu happy hours, surprise guests, and more.

    Why attend?

It’s simple: unparalleled product education, networking, career development, and one of the best tech events of the year. You’ll be one of the first to see new products from Salesforce and their partners and get hands-on, one-on-one experience with Salesforce experts — both employees of the organization and their trusted partners, like V2.

    Notable Speakers:

Dreamforce always attracts a star-studded line-up from the worlds of entertainment, tech, sports, business, and beyond. This year, we’re excited to see:

    • Magic Johnson
    • Al Gore
    • Christopher Dean
    • Denise Dresser

    Where To Stay:

With so many people descending upon San Francisco for the event, finding accommodations can be competitive. Book soon to secure the best rates, and be sure to look for accommodations with favorable cancellation policies to account for the risks of COVID and travel delays.

From our experience, it’s best to stay in downtown San Francisco if possible so that you can walk to and from events. Salesforce has booked room blocks for attendees at local hotels, which you’ll be presented with when you book your Dreamforce ticket. That said, we’ve also had clients rent out private rooms or properties via Airbnb or Vrbo, which are great options. Some have even stayed outside the city center along San Francisco’s BART system routes, which is an easy way to commute to Moscone Center (sometimes in as little as 30 minutes!) and find much better hotel rates than you may find in the downtown core.

    What to Bring:

San Francisco is known for its unpredictable weather, so bring layers to be prepared (Dreamfest takes place outdoors in a stadium). The dress code is business casual, and you’ll cover lots of ground, so think about comfort and practicality. You should also consider how you want to represent your company while there: many teams bring branded merchandise, business cards, or other bespoke items to stand out.

To get the most out of the event, you’ll also want to define a few concrete goals for attending, review the agenda in advance and choose 3–4 sessions each day you want to attend, and register for any external events or parties if needed in advance. If you want to stay and enjoy the sights of San Francisco after the event, be sure to pre-book the attractions you want to visit. With so many people in town, these tend to fill up quickly.

    Why Is This Year Special?

We look forward to this event each year — it’s a chance to connect with our clients in person and meet other Salesforce partners. Dreamforce is where we collaborate and learn together about the new products and solutions that will be launched at this time.

This year, we also have something exciting of our own to debut. At Dreamforce 2022, we will be making a big announcement in conjunction with Salesforce and Snowflake. Stay tuned for more details to come — we can’t wait to share!

    Dreamforce 2022 tickets and registration:

Tickets start at $1,599 while supplies last (prices will rise to $1,999). The Full Conference pass is valid from September 20–22 and includes access to keynotes, breakout sessions, workshops, Circles of Success roundtable discussions, networking, the Welcome Reception, Dreamfest, and daily morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch.
